Kathy's Song, Paul Simon
And as a song I was writing is left undone
I don't know why I spend my time
Writing songs I can't believe
With words that tear and strain to rhyme

Interview with Lynn

LM: Hi Lynn, can you tell us couple things about you?
Lynni work at a library... which is a dream job for me.  i'm able to help people, and learn from them... in an atmosphere of acceptance, and kindness.  i'm a poet who doesn't rhyme, still in search of herself.

LM: What makes you love this song and lyrics so much? Or you have a story about the song?
Lynnit's a nice, mellow song... talking about someone who's away from their love, and wishing they were close by, to cherish small moments to-gether.  that's a common theme in my work.  paul simon does it much better, of course.  :)  the lyrics also delve into the frustrations writers have...  so it's a song about doubt, and longing, and realization, which are the feelings i identify with a lot.

LM:What you think is the perfect moment to listen to this song?
Lynni like listening to this song when i have writer's block.   it comforts me to know that someone as talented as paul simon had trouble with his writing, as well.  when i can't put words to paper, it can be the loneliest time in the world... especially when i need to work some feelings out of me....

LM:Which genres of music you like the most?
Lynnall kinds.  i know that seems like a standard answer, but i find myself hearing music i never thought of trying, either through recommendations from friends, or suggestions i see on google plus. i listen to classic rock, new stuff, some rap, some country, old show tunes, crooners.... a lot of different music.

LM:Which songs are playing in your current iPod playlist?
Lynnmy playlist artists are very confused.  bing crosby will come on to sing "be careful, it's my heart"  and will be suddenly shoved aside so that janis joplin can have a turn with "summertime." then fun will come on with "some days" and blow my ears away.  i don't mind.  i like learning from all music.

LM:Random question: God created the world in 7 days, what he created on the 8th?
Lynni'd like to think He created the quality in us to create.... so we can make things, and learn about ourselves along the way...

LM:Where can we read your poetry work?
Lynni have a poetry blog.... words that tear and strain to rhyme.  it's at http://jamison.mysticmorph.net/

LM:Thank you Lynn

  1. Through her poetic work Lynn pours out emotions that many of us have trouble expressing in any form.
I look forward to her daily poems and the occasional Soundcloud recitation of some selected works.
Lynn could definitely also be a voice actor if she so desired. Her use of accents are witty and and add another dimension to her already well thought out lines.
If you have a moment I would recommend reading or listening to her work with an open heart and relaxed mind as you will likely find something that moves you.
